Organic Waste Management
Organic Waste Management is the process of turning organic waste into a new product like manure, larvae or even gas. Untum Recycling uses black soldier fly larvae to process organic waste into manure. The production process is explained below. Black soldier flies are grown and they are allowed to reproduce and produce eggs that turn to larvae. Females lay their eggs. the eggs are placed on organic food to hatch. Once they hatch, the larvae start consuming the organic waste until they reach instar 5 stage where the larvae is harvested.
The larvae is sold either live or dried depending on the needs of the animal farmer.
Organic manure produced from the food waste is also sold as a product at Untum
